The future of transportation is rapidly shifting towards electrification to achieve sustainability. The global narrative has been shaped by increasing concerns about environmental pollution and energy consumption. Governments across the globe are responding to this shift with rigorous regulations aimed at minimizing the carbon footprint of the transportation sector. This transformation is driving technological, infrastructural, and societal changes on a global scale. Now, more than ever, there is a pressing need for research to facilitate this transition.
In 2024, Tecnologico de Monterrey is proud to host the 3rd International Symposium on Electromobility at our Guadalajara Campus. Our ambition for this year's symposium in Guadalajara is to provide an even larger platform for the exchange of knowledge and expertise in the critical areas of electromobility.
ISEM 2024 will serve as a forum for the exchange of ideas and dialogue, sparking interest in electromobility. This will be facilitated through original research presentations, lectures from valued keynote speakers, and dedicated sessions for industry professionals.
ISEM 2024 will cover a wide range of topics related to vehicle powertrain, from energy storage technologies to the prime mover. These systems necessitate diverse control strategies, which can be implemented through electronic power converters. Changes in chassis structure and mass distribution call for the integration of enhanced, more efficient vehicle dynamics, facilitated by x-by-wire systems. Electrification also extends beyond electrical, electronic, and control systems. The electric drives of the future demand robust machine design, presenting new challenges in terms of noise, vibration, and harshness constraints. Optimal thermal behavior is achieved through innovative cooling solutions. Creative approaches to tribology and lubrication fluids are essential to ensure reliability and longevity.
The scope of technological changes extends beyond the electrification of automobiles. ISEM 2024 will also address topics such as electronic devices, artificial intelligence, autonomous navigation, vehicle-to-infrastructure interaction, innovative transportation coordination, and government policies. To provide a comprehensive view, we will also explore the electrification of other modes of transportation, including aircraft, railways, and micro electromobility.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the organizing team behind ISEM and everyone contributing to this event with their groundbreaking ideas and contributions.
The trajectory of mobility's future is determined by the decisions and actions we take today. Let's shape it together at ISEM 2024.
Sincerely,
Javier Izquierdo-Reyes
